Let’s face it, it’s since when we first started this sport that somebody gets concerned for us: mum before, our girlfriend now and tomorrow a wife. We know that freediving’s risks can be minimized with all the good technics that we learned: we have always explained it to them. Sadly, however, many of us end up leaving this sport because of their insistences. With SHARKNET, however, we now have a very powerful tool to decrease the concerns of our loved ones: in a way, they know that with SHARKNET we can always call for help when needed: they don’t any more imagine us alone in the middle of the lake. Then, in any case, when we are late or when they just need to know we are OK, they can always send a text message to our SHARKNET number. If we are at the surface, the device communicates our position right away; if we are diving, it communicates it as we resurface.
…it’s true, a few times they will spot us at the bar with friends after training: but that’s better than being forced to stop freediving!
